2025 TOP 50 East Hitters: TSS Formula

Welcome to our look at the top 50 public-school hitters in eastern-state high school baseball! To ensure every pick is fair and accurate, we used only statistics—no personal opinions—and let a computer crunch the numbers. We started by calculating each player’s “Production Base,” which blends On-Base Percentage (OBP), Slugging Percentage (SLG), and extra-base hits (RBI/Plate Appearance × 5, Doubles/PA × 10, Triples/PA × 15, and Home Runs/PA × 20). Then, we measured how tough their opponents were using the “Opponent Strength Factor,” plus the “Average Class of Competition,” to get a final score called the “Composite Score.” That means each hitter’s ranking is built entirely on performance, adjusted for the quality of their competition, all from a strictly stats-based, CPU-driven method.
