Testimonials
“It was a pleasure having Trey as part of THI. His passion not just for the games but the athletes and their stories brought out the best in him. He’s played athletics at a high level and understood the Tar Heels he covered for us. That’s a quality few sports journalists possess. He’s one of the hardest working people I know and makes our industry better.”
-Andrew Jones; Senior Writer for Tar Heel Illustrated
“Trey has found his calling in many ways and our student-athletes have benefited from that. His passion for sports exudes through him and his constant pursuit of perfection and the next big thing is contagious. We are all better because of Trey Scott. He's a man I'm willing to follow.”

“Trey Scott is a throwback to old school sportswriters: You can tell he is passionate about the people he writes about and the sports he writes about. He is beloved by athletes and coaches alike because they, too, know he cares about what he is doing. He has a bright future in this field for those reasons.”
-Bryan Hanks; The Bryan Hanks Show

He cares about not just game scores but really what is going on within your respective teams. He has brought an energy that people have enjoyed in local sports coverage and thankful for what he is doing!”-Kinston High School’s Basketball Coach Perry Tyndall
“Trey has been more than dedicated to athletics in Lenoir county. He always makes you feel so comfortable when talking to him, and he really cares for the coaches and athletes as people. We are so lucky to have him and Neuse News Sports cover our school and we appreciate all of their hard work!”
-Madison Harvey; South Lenoir High School’s Athletic Director and Volleyball Coach
Trey Scott has become one of the premiere local sports writers for our area. He has filled a void in our community for reporting and highlighting local teams and talent. He did an outstanding job last year highlighting the success of the Greene Central teams and providing lots of coverage for the 2024 Baseball State Championship team. He did many player interviews as well as a team video. Trey not only covered our team but did a great job covering all the local high schools in our area. He has always treated our coaches and players in a professional manner asking great questions while keeping it very professional. Without Trey our area would have very little local sports coverage.”
-David Bryant; Greene Central High School Athletic Director
